Christmas for Kids

  Christmas for Kids

Christmas for Kids is a 4 hour Christmas party for kids from ages 3 through middle school that gives them a chance to be active, do crafts and learn about the real meaning of Christmas.

It is held the first Saturday in December from 9 am to 1 pm.  Parents are welcome to join, but they can also go Christmas shopping or get other Christmas preparations done.

Christmas for Kids 2018 is December 1, 9 am to 1 pm at Valley View.
The theme is Hear the Bells of Christmas. Children will make Christmas cards to help spread the joy of Christmas. They will also make a gift for their parents and (hopefully) learn to play basic songs on bells.

Pre-registration is not required, just show up and have some fun.  Friends and relatives, members and non-members are all welcome.  The kids will make a craft to bring home, or a treat to eat.  If you have questions call Pastor or Heather Bode at 443-6663 or email at

Christmas for Kids 2017 was December 2, 9 am to 1 pm at Valley View Lutheran Church (corner of Custer and Benton).  The theme for 2017 Christmas for Kids was Christmons (Christmas Christian symbols).  Many Christian churches decorate trees with these ornaments. We studied their origin, meanings, and of course, made some Chrismons. We also made Chrismon shaped cookies.  See some pictures from 2017 here.

Watch a video of Christmas for Kids 2015 to get an idea of the activities!  Christmas for Kids 2015 video.  The 2016 theme was "Love Came Down at Christmas." All the crafts had a heart theme and we discussed how Jesus' birth (and death) was the ultimate act of love.
