Pastor Scott Martz is driven by a simple passion: sharing Godâs Word with people from all walks of life. He believes the Bible is the primary way God speaks to us and transforms our hearts. With a "didactic" preaching styleâmeaning he focuses on clear, depth-filled teachingâScott aims to make the Scriptures accessible and practical for everyone.
A Montana native, Scottâs journey to the ministry was unexpected. While studying at Montana State University, conversations with an agnostic roommate sparked a deep hunger for spiritual answers. That search eventually led him to change course entirely. He earned his bachelorâs degree from Northwestern College and his Master of Divinity from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in 1994.
Over his 32-year ministry, Pastor Scott has served congregations across New Mexico, Phoenix, and Texas before finally returning home to Montana. He and his wife, Heidi, have been married for 34 years and remain very close with their three adult children. Like Scott, Heidi shares a deep love for the Word, as well as a passion for music and aviation.
When he isnât in the office, youâll likely find Scott with a cup of good coffee in hand, enjoying Montanaâs scenery, or listening to everything from Fernando Ortega to classic jazz trumpet, to Christian Contemporary. Heâs a fan of hands-on projectsâwhether itâs home improvement or his current labor of love: restoring a 1946 Willys Jeep.
